Leadership
Kris Petersen is the CEO and Founder of NeighborHuddle. He began serving on the board of directors for his condominium association in 2005 and was quickly elected to the role of board president in 2006. Yes, like a lot of other board members, he ended up there by being in the wrong place at the wrong time :). His passion for community extends beyond his immediate building and into the surrounding neighborhoods. He has organized and presented at information sessions on topics including effective association government and the importance of communication in an association. He is an active member of the Wrightwood Neighborhood Association and volunteers regularly at Inspiration Cafe to help support and serve the homeless men and women in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood.
Kris holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (ILL-INI). His professional experience includes technology consulting for numerous Fortune 100 companies, web application design and several other entrepreneurial ventures. In 2008, he presented "The Best Solutions Are Derived From Need" at the inaugural SPARKt real estate technology conference in Chicago.
Kris lives in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago with his wife, Starrin, who works in print and online advertising sales. They do not have any children, but they do have a rescued labradoodle named Bentley. Kris loves being outdoors. He bikes to the office everyday (yes, he wears a helmet and stops at stop signs) and is currently training for his first marathon. While Chicago is his home, he loves escaping to the cabin that his great-grandfather built in Door County, Wisconsin whenever possible.
